Mountain Monster

Words & Snaps by Sam

It was at the February BRC Gold Coast Meet where I first spotted Kong’s Evo 6. It perhaps wasn't the most pristine looking car at the event, nor was it the most powerful, but there was just something about it that really caught my attention.

Maybe it was the large black XXR rims; the design giving a fat, stanced appearance, or maybe it was the uneven pulsating sound coming from under the bonnet, indicating a set of high-lift aftermarket cams. Or maybe it was that it just looked raw, mean and purposeful. Whatever it was, it grabbed my attention, it gripped me, and I just knew I had to find out more.

Movie Review: Need For Speed

Words by Ben

So you, like many of us out there, have been a fan of the Need For Speed games for a while. You've raced virtually all of the rides on racetracks around the globe and taken down virtual cities full of cops who want nothing more but to put spikes strips under your wheels. You have survived all this and won race after race.

Yet recently, a new achievement has topped your to do list: watch the NFS movie.

DIY: Removing water from tail lights

Words & Snaps by Ben

It's quite common to see moisture in car's head-or tail lights. Whether water started seeping in after the light casing was cracked following an accident, or simply because it's getting old, water's getting in there, and it's a pain in the "exhaust pipe", if you catch my drift.

In my case, I suspect water started seeping in after I stupidly reversed without properly checking my blind spot. Yeah, I still cringe in shame when I think about it.

The result is nonetheless there: my rear right tail light turned into a fish tank, which annoyingly fogs up when driving at night because of the heat of the light bulbs. It was time to pour out the water and make sure it never came back.

Because Race Car

Words & Snaps by Sam

I’d like to start off by thanking the guys at Because Race Car- BRC for organising and hosting this event. It was a great evening with lots on show and without any of the recklessness that too often spoils public meets. A quiet car park within the beautiful grounds of Sanctuary Cove was to play host to BRC’s first big meet, which had an impressive 80+ rides come down to celebrate!
